By using the site, you agree to the terms outlined here, which may be updated at any time. All content and photography are the property of Robert Penton and must not be used or reproduced without written permission. To help prevent misuse, right-click functionality has been disabled.

Your privacy is taken seriously. This policy explains what personal information is collected, how it's used, and how it's stored or shared. You may request access to your data or ask questions at any time via email.

Personal Data Collected

Information such as your name, date of birth, address, phone number, health information, emergency contact information and email may be collected during booking or consultation. This data is used solely to manage appointments and maintain client records.

Reviews

Should you choose to submit a review of your service experience, your name and review may be shared (if provided) on our website and published in both social and printed formats. We collect only anonymised data, but if you choose to provide in-person or written feedback, this will be retained in your client notes for quality improvement and legal/insurance purposes. Should you wish to omit your name from the review, please email hello@rootandrisewellbeing.com or omit this information when completing your review. All data you submit will be stored and processed in line with our privacy policy.

Payments

All appointments require full advanced payment of either £40 or £50.
Payments appear as Robert Ritchie – Reiki Therapy, processed securely by Setmore and Squareup.
Payments are non-refundable, and changes with less than 72 hours’ notice are fully chargeable and will be retained.
You can choose to pay via Clearpay. Should you wish to pay in instalments, please email hello@rootandrisewellbeing.com.
Failure to complete your consultation form and confirm your appointment via Squareup within 72 hours will result in the appointment being cancelled, and full payment retained or requested.
No payment information is ever stored by Robert Penton/RootandRise Wellbeing.com. Setmore and Squareup are in no way associated with Robert Penton/RootandRisewellbeing.com. Visit Squareup for their full terms.

Giftcards

You can purchase digital e-gift cards via Squareup here - Buy a gift card.

The following terms apply to both the purchase and use of digital gift cards.

All Gift Card purchases are final. Gift Cards are non-returnable and non-refundable, except where required by UK consumer law. They cannot be exchanged, transferred, or redeemed for cash or credit, in whole or in part. Gift Cards may only be redeemed for Usui Reiki Healing Energy appointments. Each Gift Card is valid for a maximum period of three (3) months from the date of issue. Upon expiry, any remaining balance is automatically forfeited and cannot be reinstated or refunded. Gift Cards are delivered digitally to the email address provided at checkout. The client is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of that email and for safeguarding the Gift Card. Root & Rise Wellbeing, nor Robert Penton is liable for loss, theft, unauthorised use, or misuse of any Gift Card. Root & Rise Wellbeing reserves the right to refuse acceptance of or void any Gift Card obtained fraudulently or used in violation of the terms stated on this page. Root & Rise Wellbeing may update its general terms and policies from time to time; however, changes will not affect Gift Cards already purchased.

Cancellations & Refunds

Appointments must be cancelled or rescheduled with at least 72 hours’ notice via Squareup, or via email at hello@rootandrisewellbeing.com.
Late cancellations or no-shows will not be refunded.
Payments are non-refundable, and changes with less than 72 hours’ notice are fully chargeable and will be retained.
If your practitioner must cancel, you’ll be offered an alternative appointment or a full refund within 72 hours.

Data Storage & Access

Your data is stored securely using password-protected devices and online systems via Squareup. It is retained for up to seven years (5 years for insurance purposes) unless you request permanent deletion via your Setmore account or email at hello@rootandrisewellbeing.com.

Sharing Personal Information

Your data will only be shared to meet legal, professional, or medical requirements, and only with your written consent—except in emergencies or legal circumstances.

This site does not use any tracking or analytical cookies. By following external links (e.g., Wix, Instagram, Setmore, Squareup, The Reiki Association, The Reiki Council and Guild of Holistic Therapists), you enter into separate agreements with those providers. Review their individual policies, as Robert Penton/Root and Rise Wellbeing is not responsible for any issues that may arise from visiting or clicking third-party links.

Appointment Restrictions

Please do not book if you:

Are under 18
Are under the influence of drugs/alcohol
Have symptoms of COVID-19
Have unhealed fractures, muscle tears, or contagious infections
Have open wounds, lice, or mites
Have certain untreated or active health conditions (e.g., cancer, diabetes, epilepsy) without a medical clearance letter. Review the consultation form for further information and guidance.

You are also responsible for notifying Robert of any allergies before booking and attending your appointment.

Managing Appointments

Appointments can be managed via your Squareup account and via email at hello@rootandrisewellbeing.com. Payments are non-refundable for any changes made with less than 72 hours’ notice.

Indemnity

You agree not to hold Robert Ritchie responsible for any outcomes before, during or following your treatment, including injury, allergic reactions, or personal/financial loss, mental and/or emotional changes or life decisions. It is your responsibility to disclose known allergies or known medical and wellbeing conditions during the consultation.

Accessibility

Treatment rooms are located at The Practice Rooms in Sheffield, which have no disabled accessibility, due to their historic layout. If you experience poor or limited mobility and require assistance or guidance, please contact the Practice Rooms directly at 0800 6444 066 or info@thepracticerooms.co.uk.
